Danielle, such a wonderful website. I am recovering from major surgery, a total hip replacement. Though pain has lessened, I still fight some of it, and also the exhaustion that comes from restrengthening the muscles and remembering my Alexander Technique and other body lessons to counteract what pain has wanted to do to my musculature. I’m used to working 14 hour days, and my life and responsibilities and profession, along with the backlog building up by illness time, would seem to be asking this of me now. But I can’t seem to do more than a bit each day right now as I rebuild. It is so frustrating. How can I listen to and work with this rebuilding body, when so much needs to be done? I feel unequal to the task. This is so new for me!!! Shall I do the 10 tasks due yesterday? Or lie in the sun and swim and let the warmth rebuild me? If I do the latter, I fall further behind though my body rebuilds. Hmmmm choices. Your thoughts?

Thank you so much for reading the blogs! I would say let your body rebuild. The responsibilities will get done at some point, but if you body goes under stress it will not recover. I wish I listened to my body more, because I currently have back problems due to ignoring the signs my body kept telling me. Do a little bit of work everyday. I definitely understand how frustrating it can be as well, but moments like this are for times of reflection and care for yourself. When you are fully healed you will be able to do everything and more. Just take everyday at a time and be kind to yourself
Wishing you all the best and I hope I can meet you someday : )
